Sheldon brings over 30 years of experience in European financial services private equity investing, asset management and investment banking to his role as Head of Europe at Cohen Circle.
Sheldon is a former senior investment professional at Elliott Advisors and Towerbrook Capital Partners. In both investment firms, he pursued and completed private equity investments in financial services companies. Prior to joining Towerbrook, Sheldon worked at Rabobank (1998 - 2008), initially as head of financial markets and investment bank and executive committee member for the Americas.
From 2005 to 2008, Sheldon served as Senior Executive Vice President and member of the Managing Board of Rabobank International in charge of Global Financial Markets and Asset Management. In this capacity, he participated in multiple financial services business investments and divestitures across all segments of the industry – including banking, specialty lending, payments, insurance, and market infrastructure. Earlier in his career, Sheldon held senior roles in investment banking at Deutsche Bank, Lehman Brothers, and Bankers Trust.
Sheldon graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers College (Bachelor of Arts in Economics) and has Master of Business Administration (Finance) and Master of Public Health degrees from Yale University.
Betsy Cohen
Co-Founder
Betsy has 50+ years experience running companies and investing across the capital markets. She founded three banks, including the Bancorp, where she was CEO for 15 years before founding Cohen Circle to support the next generation of fintech leaders.
Daniel is the co-founder of Cohen Circle and The Bancorp. He has over 20 years of experience as an operator and investor. Daniel also founded Cohen & Company, an asset manager with $2.2 billion of AUM.
Amanda is the CEO of Cohen Circle and joined the team from CardConnect after she and the Cohens took the integrated payments company public in 2016. She has 15+ years’ experience as an investor, operator, advisor, and lawyer with companies in both the public and private sectors.
Mehar oversees all legal and operational matters across Cohen Circle. Mehar began his legal career as a corporate associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and has also worked at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.
Max oversees all finance and reporting matters across Cohen Circle. Previously, Max was a Director in Deal Advisory at KPMG LLP, having spent more than 9 years with the Big-4 Accounting firm.
Dina leads all marketing and brand efforts at Cohen Circle. Previously, she built out GTM strategies at high-growth technology start-ups and managed media relations across hundreds of national publications.
Sheldon has been an investor and operator of fintech/financial services businesses for 30+ years with senior investment roles at Elliott and TowerBrook Capital, and Board Member/CEO overseeing financial markets and asset management at Rabobank.
Dan leads growth investments at Cohen Circle. He has been an investor and fintech founder for over 18 years with roles at Barclays Capital, Resource America, and PeerIQ (which was acquired by CrossRiver Bank).
Jeff focuses on alternative investment strategies and deal structuring at Cohen Circle. Previously, he co-founded a $10bn asset management platform and founded numerous companies during his time at Resource America.
Shami is involved in all aspects of Cohen Circle with a focus on origination. He has served as a senior executive and board member of a number of public and private financial services companies working with Betsy and Daniel Cohen for over 25 years.
Corinne joined Cohen Circle from Wells Fargo Securities, where she was a Vice President focused on technology equity capital markets. Corinne has extensive experience executing equity transactions, raising capital for private and public companies.
Nate supports various businesses at Cohen Circle, including venture and SPAC deals. Prior to Cohen Circle, Nate was at UBS where he worked on numerous SPAC M&A, public capital market, and private financing transactions.
Jeremy Kuiper heads up Enterprise Development within Pathward, which includes Enterprise Revenue Development and Innovation, Emerging Markets, Enterprise Relationships and Pathward Ventures, the investment arm of Pathward.
